Neighbourhood planning is a new way for communities to have a say in the future of the places where they live and work. It gives you the power to produce a plan with legal weight that can influence the form and location of development in the neighbourhood area. After 6 years of preparation and community engagement, undertaken by the Town Council, the Great Torrington Neighbourhood Plan has reached a significant milestone. Following a successful formal examination, and agreement by Torridge District Council, a referendum on the Neighbourhood plan will take place on 17^th June 2021.

The Referendum will be managed by the District Council; all registered voters within the parish of Great Torrington will be able participate in the referendum.
