HR Support Officer

£23,194 – £24,496 per annum, pro rata (Actual Salary £9,277 – £9,798 per annum) I Permanent I Part time (14.8 hours per week, working Thursday and Friday)

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent administration skills and an interest in HR to join our small and friendly HR team.

The main focus of the role is completing a wide range of HR administrative tasks, including recruitment, organising training and wellbeing activities, and assisting with the provision of general HR advice across the organisation. 

If you have proven administrative skills and a CIPD Level 3 qualification and/or equivalent experience, then this could be the role for you!

Housing Renewal Team Leader

We are looking for a Housing Renewal Team Leader to join our Public Health and Community Safety team at our offices in Bideford, working up to 37 hours per week. Please specify how many hours you would like to work, and the working pattern that would best suit your lifestyle, on your application form.

As a Housing Renewal Team Leader working at Torridge, you will be responsible for leading and managing the Housing Renewal team which is made up of 4 officers. You will lead all functions of the enforcement and disabled facilities grant to secure a healthy and safe living environment through the provision of advice, financial assistance, education and enforcement of statutory provisions relating to housing conditions.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 4 HNC building qualification or have relevant equivalent qualifications and/or experience.

As a Housing Renewal Case Officer working at Torridge, you will make a real difference to your community and the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents. You will be responsible for the enforcement of relevant housing policies and securing grants to ensure residents are able to live in a healthy and safe environment.

Although not essential, the ideal candidate will hold a Level 4 HNC building qualification or have equivalent knowledge of building construction, private sector housing legislation or experience in the delivery of grants. If you feel that you don’t have this level of experience, although are genuinely interested in this role and feel your skills are a good fit, please get in touch as training will be provided to help you develop and to ensure you maintain your competency.

Community Safety and Public Health Officer

We are looking for a Community Safety and Public Health Officer to join our team based at our offices in Bideford.

The successful candidate will lead the delivery of the Council’s Community Safety and Public Health work by developing partnerships with officers, agencies and organisations to promote a community safety culture throughout the authority’s services, ensuring that the Council meets its statutory obligations under relevant legislation such as the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

We are looking for someone who has a Level 4 Higher National Diploma/NVQ in a relevant subject field, or someone who is able to demonstrate equivalent experience.

Waste and Recycling Manager

£31,099 – £34,723 per annum | Full Time (37 hours per week)| Permanent

Are you an experienced manager looking for an exciting new challenge? We may have the perfect role for you! An opportunity has arisen within our Operational Services team, the post holder will directly manage our Waste and Recycling Supervisors and Admin Support team, therefore it is essential for candidates to have previous management experience.

The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day management of the refuse, recycling, cleansing and administration teams, working closely with the Waste and Recycling Supervisors to provide the highest quality of service to the people of Torridge and supporting all drivers, loaders and operatives to complete their daily tasks.

The Waste and Recycling Manager will be responsible for keeping abreast of industry-wide developments, evaluating ways to continuously improve the service standards and delivery and provide recommendations to the Operational Services Manager on an ongoing basis. They will be responsible for taking the lead on revitalising the recycling education programme, promoting recycling initiatives with the aim of increasing public engagement.

The post holder will deputise for the Operational Services Manager in their absence, and assist them with monitoring progress and reporting statistics, to ensure the service meets Government-set targets.

Are you an experienced General Practice/Estates Surveyor looking for a new challenge and to grow your career? This position is just right for a Chartered Surveyor with experience in asset and estate management.

As a customer focussed, experienced property professional, you will actively shape and deliver a range of services across the Council’s portfolio. You will be responsible for the effective management of all property related matters including negotiations for acquisitions and disposals, granting of leases and rent reviews.

The post holder will have line management responsibilities for the Estates Officer.
