Mayor’s Chosen Charities 2023/24 – Cllr Doug Smith

Cllr Doug Smith, Mayor of Great Torrington, is pleased to announce his charities for 2023/2024:

His first charity is The Eve Appeal, https://eveappeal.org.uk/ , which is the leading UK national charity funding research into and raising awareness of the five gynaecological cancers. 

Cllr Smith will also be fundraising for Torrington Foodbank: https://www.facebook.com/TorringtonFoodBank/?locale=en_GB .  During these financially challenging times, foodbanks are stepping into help people who are having difficulties and our local foodbank is no exception. 

Cllr Smith would like to thank the residents of Great Torrington for their generosity in donating to his charities for the last couple of years and he appeals to the community to continue to support his new charities for the forthcoming year.
