Great Torrington Town Council has a vacancy for a part-time Office Manager. Initially the role is for 21 hours per week spread over three days. There will be a possibility of the hours increasing in the New Year.
The offices are at present open to the public from 9am until 1pm Tuesday to Thursday inclusive, the remaining hours are worked during these afternoons after the office is closed.
The role includes managing the administrative aspect of the council’s business, including interacting with the public and outside agencies. The post holder is also the appointment secretary to the Mayor. Attendance will be required at monthly evening council meetings to take the minutes.
There will also be specific projects to organise such as the Mayfair ceremony and the Remembrance parade and attendance to assist at each event is expected.
Applicants will need inter alia to be computer literate, organised, confident in interacting with the public and others, experienced in using social media and an accurate typist. Salary scale D £16,781 – £17,772 Pro rata.
